Centella Asiatica: Kozmetik ve Sağlık Alanlarında Botanik Bir Güç Merkezi

Özet (abstract)

This manuscript is a narrative review exploring the expanding role of Centella asiatica in cosmetic science, dermatology adjacent formulations, and wellness focused applications. Drawing on pharmacological, clinical, and formulation based literature, it synthesizes current evidence surrounding the plant’s principal triterpenoid constituents, asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid, and madecassic acid and their relevance to skin barrier repair, wound healing, inflammatory modulation, vascular support, and emerging wellness uses. Rather than treating Centella asiatica solely as a traditional medicinal botanical, this review contextualizes its transition into modern cosmeceutical, dermatological, and nutraceutical products. Emphasis is placed on mechanism driven activity, formulation considerations, ingredient compatibility, regulatory context, and market adoption trends, including its widespread recognition under the “CICA” designation. This work does not present new experimental data. Instead, it offers an interdisciplinary synthesis intended to support researchers, formulators, clinicians, and product developers seeking an evidence based understanding of Centella asiatica’s functional role across cosmetic and wellness industries. The manuscript is shared as a preprint to facilitate early dissemination, citation, and scholarly discussion ahead of formal journal submission.
