Özet (abstract)

War profoundly changes the environment and context of global business. As people are displaced, infrastructure destroyed, and both political and business relationships re-defined, pedagogical approaches to the teaching of business classes in higher education may also need to change. This paper explores the effects of war on the teaching of business management at the university level, extending the Conservation of Resources theory to apply to wartime pedagogy. Using qualitative data from in-depth interviews with professors currently teaching in war zones, we examine how these conditions may affect course design and educational quality. We propose strategies that educators can use to support students affected by war while sustaining and improving educational quality during times of geopolitical conflict. ​
