Abstract

ABSTRACT: Recent proposed changes to what constitutes a professional and their impact on federal student loans are in flux, and the public has concerns over the cost of higher education. The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners have a professional responsibility to help educate policymakers and the public about the cost of attendance. Missing from national discussions are the not-so-visible expenses that contribute to the education of professionals. These expenses are necessary to maintain the world's most highly educated health care workforce.
