Özet (abstract)
The aim of this study is to review the existing literature on the usage of generative artificial intelligence in the education and to reveal the trends. Within the scope of the study, TR Index and Google Scholar databases were searched using the keywords ‘generative artificial intelligence’ and ‘education’. Of the total 43 studies found, 13 articles were selected in terms of their content and scope appropriateness. The analyses revealed that generative artificial intelligence offers significant contributions to the educational environment in various aspects, such as personalised learning, increased efficiency, and time and resource savings. However, while some studies addressed niche types of generative artificial intelligence; others discussed the general role of artificial intelligence in education. This finding indicates that the topic of generative artificial intelligence is still in its developmental stage in the literature and that the field requires more in-depth studies. The research aims to provide a guiding framework for future studies by evaluating the orientations of existing studies from a systematic perspective.
