Özet (abstract)
Description This dataset provides simulation inputs and Python code supporting the manuscript “Beam intensity and quality predictions for laser-accelerated ions after capture and transport” (https://arxiv.org/abs/2605.09574). It enables optimization of the reference solenoid-based beamline used to capture and transport protons produced by target-normal sheath acceleration (TNSA). The optimization combines particle tracking with the ASTRA simulation program and a genetic algorithm implemented using PyGAD. It varies solenoid currents, radio-frequency cavity phase, and element separations to maximize the fraction of particles reaching the beamline exit within a specified energy window around the reference energy. The deposit includes the beamline model and optimization code, example input particle distributions, magnetic and electric field profiles, an ASTRA input file, and an explanatory Jupyter notebook. The reference particle distribution covers 11.4 MeV ±5%; a reduced distribution centered at 11 MeV is provided for computationally inexpensive tests. Use requires a Python environment with lume-astra (https://christophermayes.github.io/lume-astra/), PyGAD, and the additional dependencies listed in the accompanying README. The ASTRA executable must be obtained separately and is not included in this deposit. File descriptions and execution instructions are also provided in the README.
