Abstract

Şizofreni önemli halk sağlığı sorunlarından biridir. Şizofreni hastalarında intihar sık gözlenebilmektedir. Şizofreni hastalarının klinik takiplerinde intihar risk faktörlerinin değerlendirilmesi intiharı önleme açısından önemlidir. İntiharın altında yatan faktörlerden biri de serum D vitamini seviyeleri olabilir. Psikiyatrik hastalıkların nörobiyolojisinde D vitaminin önemi giderek artmaktadır. Şizofreni hastalarında intihar ve D vitamini düzeylerinin incelendiği çalışmamızda bu konuda literatüre katkı sağlanacağı düşünülmektedir.
