Abstract
This chapter maps Turkey’s existing and potential use of ‘religion’ in foreign affairs by focusing not only on state agencies including the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı) but also on some non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and faith-based organizations affiliated to the Turkish state. The chapter organizes this mapping geographically: Europe, the Balkans, South Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa as well as the global Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
