Abstract
El artículo indaga acerca de los jueces de comisión enviados por la Real Audiencia de Charcas a Buenos Aires y el Paraguay en el siglo XVII para investigar acerca de las relaciones entre poderes locales y las unidades administrativas mayores en una lógica que conjuga los conceptos de espacio, distrito y jurisdicción para analizar el gobierno en el sur del Perú colonial. Asimismo, a partir del concepto de ‘archipiélagos de gobierno’ reconstruimos la territorialidad del gobierno centrada sobre la capacidad de acción de los jueces, en tanto agentes de la Audiencia, ante el tejido social urbano de una y otra gobernación.
