Abstract
This ethnographic research examines the cultural memory embedded in the textile iconography —motifs, colors and compositions— of Ccoñani Vinchos (Ayacucho). The textiles, produced by the elderly members of the Machu Lucero association, constitute living repositories of ancestral knowledge. The narrative patterns enable an understanding of textile practice as a system of active cultural memory. However, the migration of younger generations weakens these circuit of transmission, positioning older adults as the primary custodians of these techniques and knowledges.
