Özet (abstract)
Abstract Being able to evaluate the quality of a subject’s attention is important for students in a contemporary technological society where attention is a highly sought after commodity. I argue that evaluating attention can be particularly effective through engaging with film, especially considering the increasing challenges that undergraduate students face in relation to attention and technology (e.g., pausing the scroll and staying immersed in reading and writing). This pedagogical approach empowers students to be able to philosophically evaluate attention in the context of contemporary technological use by engaging with relevant examples from film.
