Abstract
This research examined the relationships among psychological richness, meaning of life, and psychological well-being (PWB), with happiness as a mediator. A sample of 494 adult participants from the general population was selected through purposive sampling. The data were gathered using the Psychologically Rich Life Questionnaire (PRLQ; Oishi et al., 2019), the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ; Steger et al., 2006), the Oxford Happiness Inventory (OHI; Argyle et al., 1989), and the Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS; Ryff, 1989). The analysis indicated that psychological richness, meaning in life, and happiness together explained 45.3% % of the variance in PWB. There were significant and positive relationships between psychological richness, meaning in life, happiness, and PWB. Furthermore, psychological richness and meaning in life have a significantly positive indirect relationship with PWB, mediated by happiness. This fitted model for the direct and indirect relationships between psychological richness, meaning in life, and PWB with the mediating role of happiness has implications for positive development in adults through individual and community-focused initiatives.
