Abstract
İbn Haldun çalışmalarıyla ilgilenen araştırmacıların karşılaşmış oldukları problemlerin birçoğu doğrudan İbn Haldun’un Mukaddimesi’nden kaynaklanmaktadır. Mukaddime’de yer alan anlaşılması zor ibareler, kapalı kelimler ve karmaşık terkipler araştırmacıların kafasını karıştırmakta, ayrıca modern dönemdeki büyük düşünürlerden birine ait olduğunu zannettiğimiz birçok cümle ve ifadeyi Mukaddime’nin sayfalarında okumak da bu karışıklığı daha da artırmaktadır. Fakat bununla beraber bu açıklama ve çeliş- kili yorumlar hakkındaki mesuliyetin büyük kısmı araştırmacının ya bizzat kendisine yahut Haldûnî düşünceyi ele alış tarzına aittir. Bu çalışma her şeyden önce, parçaların bütün içerisindeki yerlerini bulmaya çabalayan bütüncül bir bakış açısıyla İbn Haldun’un görüşlerini olduğu gibi ve onun düşündüğü şekilde sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bunu yaparken İbn Haldun’un şahsî uğraşıları ve sosyal tecrübelerini de hesaba katmayı planlıyor ve bu görüşlerin özel olarak Arap siyasî ve sosyal düşüncesinin hedeflerinin ortaya çıkışına ve gelişmesine kaynak teşkil ettiğini varsayıyoruz.
