Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examines whether signaling AI‐related digital skills improves employment outcomes for women from underrepresented groups defined by race, age, sexual orientation and autism‐spectrum disclosure in England. The findings indicate that underrepresented women receive fewer interview invitations and are invited to lower‐paid vacancies relative to majority‐group women. Signaling AI‐related digital skills improves interview invitations for underrepresented women in the pooled analysis, although their disadvantage is not removed. The observed uplift is consistent with AI Capital and productivity‐signaling frameworks, yet such credentials remain insufficient to eliminate disadvantage. AI training should therefore be complemented by stronger equality enforcement.
