Sistem sosial adalah Sejumlah kegiatan hubungan timbal balik yang kurang lebih bersifat konsisten. Sistem sosial diciptakan manusia untuk mempengaruhi prilaku manusia. Dalam sistem sosial hubungan timbal balik terjadi antara masyarakat, organisasi dan kelompok sosial. Dalam masyarakat terjadi interaksi dan juga terdapat fakta sosial yang bersifat umum.
